About LarderLore

Thanks for visiting LarderLore. My name is Ethan Reedy and this is my personal project. I have been a technology enthusiast since the early 1980s, but I stopped using my coding skills when I left high school. Over the last two years, the AI revolution has let me revive that passion to build software.

LarderLore came about because my wife is an excellent cook. Her mother before her was an excellent cook as well. Our oldest children have left the house and I wanted a way to share all of our accumulated kitchen lore (aka, recipes). I started building something for personal use and it got out of hand.

I spent just over a month building the first release of this website. I'd guess I put 125 hours into the project. I used both Claude Code and Google Gemini. If you are interested in more details on the AI end of things, please ask.

I hope others find this site and use it. I've certainly enjoyed building it. I hope it makes enough money to pay for itself and help offset some of my AI costs, but I have no illusions of being set for life from the wealth that will come pouring in!
